Parent's Formal

My parents are here for ZTA's parents formal this weekend. I can't wait to get all dolled up and spend some quality time with my wonderful Mom and Dad! Two of my roomies are ZTAs with me and then I'll be taking our other roomie as my hot date so we can have a fabulous apartment table. Can't wait to post pictures of the night!

Lavender

I love the smell of lavender. It reminds me of the little lavender packets my grandma keeps in closets and drawers to keep clothes smelling fresh and moth free. She grows the lavender herself and dries it to make these little packets. When I was at Whole Foods yesterday, I couldn't resist picking up a huge bar of lavender soap. It smells heavenly in the shower and helped clear out my currently stuffy nose.

Lavender makes for the most decor too.

I even got inspired to paint my nails lavender- a perfect Summer to Fall transition color!

Emmy's Looks

Although I didn't get to watch the Emmy's, I still took some time to glance at the dresses online.  This is one of the better award shows we have seen in awhile. Remember the boring Oscars last year? These looks were so much better! Here are several of my favorites:

Red was the color of the night! Each shade is slightly different and very flattering to its owner.

Embellished blush dresses also made a Fall statement

I love the cobalt dresses as well-such a hot Fall color!

Black glitter and beading are so dramatic and make a statement

Green earrings also kept popping up along the red carpet, love the drama these emerald gems adds!

When Stressed, Pinterest!

Cleaning, fashion, puppies, and food! Just a few of my favorite things. 

My Life is A Comedy

Sometimes, or should I say all the time, I feel like my life is a huge comedy. Let's take this past weekend's examples.

1. Friday night I went to a 90s themed date function. My date and I were JLo and P. Diddy. Me dressed ghetto? If you read this blog you know that alone made me cranky.

Yes I 'm wearing a zebra print dress. Ughhhh

So to make things even more comical, I wasn't exactly interested romantically in my date. When he leaned in for a kiss I may have said "I'm really sorry but my boyfriend and I just broke up two weeks ago." "We met in Spain, his name was Juan, and it was an amazing Summer fling I can't get over." Yes I said this, and no I did not go to Spain this Summer or have a boyfriend named Juan. whoops.

As we were running around getting ready for the date function, I only had time to pick up a few groceries.

This is pathetic. Organic frozen meals and Bacardi drink mix. Wow what has my life come to. 

Country Diva drove a little fast. Hence there went my groceries. Please ignore the blonde wig. Story for another time.

Finally if my apartment couldn't get any more absurd (and I'm eliminating half of the stories for the decency of this blog), the following happened last night.

I didn't want to copy the same photo so I cropped myself out and made this my picture.

Of course my roomies decide to pick on me for cutting them out of the picture and proceed to post this on Facebook

All right so it was fairly clever of them but still.

A few other funny side notes from this weekend.

1. The Equestrian wore a feather vest for her costume and it proceeded to shed all over our entire apartment.

2. The Wasian ran into every boy she has ever liked this weekend multiple times and had hysterical encounters with all of them.

3. I don't know where the Corona bottles in my kitchen came from.

4. I was hit on by a freshman last night. I am a third year.

5. The Wasian came home Thursday night telling me she had found this gorgeous Portuguese boy for me. We met him last night. He called her the wrong name and was from South America not Portugal. Lost all the appeal.
