So during my lunch break yesterday, I walked over to Ulta. Mind you I did this after reading an article on preventing premature aging. Bad idea. Hence I walked away with some brand new products.
I love Mario Badesco facewash! It is is so gentle on skin and has real seaweed chunks in it that feel great against your skin. Lately, I have been reading that the best way to prevent premature aging is through sunscreen and Vitamin A. I use SPF 50 daily but not Vitamin A so I picked up Mario Badesco's Vitamin A serum which protects against environmental effects like the sun and pollution. I figured 4-5 little serum drops a day could help in the long run! You might think I'm crazy now but just wait until I'm 50.
Next up was some new night cream. Since I'm not crazy enough to start using Elizabeth Arden's well known Prevage creams yet, I stuck to one of her basic night lotions. Online reviews said that it works just as well as her more expensive products. If I had brought home a $400 bottle of Prevage I think my mom would have thought I had lost my mind so this seemed to be a good compromise. It has no anti aging specific ingredients just good for your skin ingredients. You don't want to over do it with the products when your young. I have to say when I woke up this morning, my skin was incredibly glowly to the point that I am only wearing mascara to work today!
On the left is Urban Decay's all nighter spray. I have read that this spray keeps your make-up on all night long so I picked up just a sample size bottle for special events. On the right is Stila's Kohl eyeliner. I have really dark eyes so I love doing dramatic smoky eyes Kardashian style.
I love Ulta's mini section. I picked up this shampoo and conditioner for travel. Disclaimer-this is for color treated hair and my hair has never been colored! O well I'm guessing it is just extra moisturizing.
I am the SAME way. I use wrinkle products my friends mock me and I tell them they won't be laughing when I am older. I use vitamin A gel AND glycolic acid peels on my face.
Loved this post. I'm such an Ulta addict. I live within walking distance and add that to being a beauty blogger... bad combo! Anyhow, you mentioned liking the Kardashian smoky eye. I just did a post on Beauty Forum (my beauty blog on tumblr) about that look and thought you might like it. There's a video specifically about the Kardashians linked in this post! http://beautyforum.tumblr.com/post/7555171767/smoked-out-eyes Love your blog!
I loveeee love Ulta. You're so smart to be buying anti-aging products already. My mom started using wrinkle cream when she was 18 and she hardly has any wrinkles!
I don't blame you for buying anti-aging products! I moisturize like crazy to hopefully prevent future wrinkles lol Especially during the summer when we spend so much more time in the sun! I'll have to try that facewash!
i've never been to ulta (mainly because they don't have any in canada), but i'm a big sephora girl. the next time i go to the states, i'll be sure to check one out!
I was literally just looking at buying the urban decay all nighter spray. Let me know if you like it of not :) I am crazy about anti-aging projects, too. You can never start too early!
Well, you've convinced me that it is time for a beauty shopping spree. My beauty routine could use an update (and I could probably use some of that night cream...) btw, your pup is sooooo cute!
I love, love, love Ulta! And I think I'm going to have to try the Urban Decay all nighter spray. I can't stand for my makeup to start fading halfway through a night out! xoxo
I always read such great reviews about ULTA but have never been! Must go ASAP! Also, I love the smokey eye but I feel like it doesn't work for me...tutorial?
Please keep me updated on how the Elizabeth Arden night cream works! I need a good night cream especially on nights like this where I cannot sleep and my skin needs rejuvenation!
Im glad that you posted about the anti aging products. I've been looking for some good new products.. I'm totally after the prevention thing too! If you know of any other good products or tips, please pass them on! :)
I LOVE Ulta!!! Now I'm in the mood to go!

As for night creams, I swear by Clinique's All About Eyes. It's amazing, and my eyes look dewy and fresh all day.

ReplyDeleteVitamin A works wonders for my skin. I take vitamin A and E capsules twice a day.
